  • This beach is near the airport so excellent for plane watching. I'd suggest going to the right along the beach and not along the causeway directly out into the ocean. You can walk along the beach for ...  more »
  • While I was taking a long walk on the pier somebody broke into my car via driver's window and fished out my laptop. I didn't even notice it at first because there were no traces left and car looked ok...  more »
  • I had been hoping to get to this place for years. I finally got the chance today. I heard there were over 200 species of birds; however I only saw gulls, herons, cormorants and killdeer. I also wanted...  more »

  • I went all the way down to the peak, it's 3.5km each way. Bring your dog and enjoy the silence and nature. Or walk with a good friend to have a nice conversation plus having a great view.
  • Iona beach is a beautiful location near the Vancouver Airport (YVR). You can walk along the beach and see and feel the amazing sand along the coast. You can also walk along the long path that goes out into the ocean over a pipe transporting treated sewage into the ocean called the Iona Jetty. There is much natural habitat that lays around the park and if you come later, maybe you'll catch a nice sunset as well.
  • Great cycling destination, but beware if you wish to ride out to the end of the long point you probably don't want to do it on your nice road bike - the "bike" path is gravel & somewhat rough. Aside from that, it has facilities which are what you'd expect, and is a great place to see sunsets, birds, etc! On a nice day Mount Baker is perfectly visible...
  • Very nice sandy beach for spending a sunny day, water might not be very clean (algae, foam) to bath but the beach is worth the visit just to hang around there. I recommend you to go farther away from the entrance to have a more quiet/private spot. On the plus is close to the airport and if you like watching airplanes you can stop on your way there.
  • Park at the edge of Richmond that is dog friendly. It's at least a 4km walk one way along the concrete pipe, but it looks deceptively less from the angle and lack of background reference. The views are amazing. During the weekday it's not as busy. Note that the pipes does transfer treated waste water to the open waters. I don't really notice anything smelly, but some have claimed to smell something
