  • The place has a wonderful garden, where you can sit and admire the building. Entering the yard of the temple, you can see the statues and interesting wall plates, about General Guan, a buddhist hero. ...  more »

  • This is a beautiful temple and a peaceful one. I am not a Buddhist, so can't comment on the spiritual and religious aspect. The temple offers meditation on Saturdays (I think), which would be more int...  more »

  • A beautiful Chinese Buddhist temple with a lovely garden. The enormous golden Buddha sculptures are stunning and amazing. It’s very peaceful and nice to walk around. Gladly, they decrease the incense sticks to avoid the fragrant smoke. There is a small vegetarian restaurant for lunch only, and the food is appetizing. This place has a free parking and there is no admission fee. Note: No photography allowed.
  • It's a hidden beauty. Great place to take visitors for the experience. There's also a nice vegetarian restaurant on site.
  • Beautiful, peaceful and serene--despite all the people dropping in to check it out (like me). More than worthy of many more visits. You can buy incense to pay your respects up in the temple office to the left of the main staircase (there's a side door and the box of sticks is to your right next to the desk). I wish I'd had more time.
  • Peaceful place to rest your soul and pray for world peace. Do not bring your own incense - these are to be purchased there for $3 (set of 3); light incense at the fire pit at the entrance. Pray to each GOD. Inside the main temple you may find Buddhist Monks chanting; here you may give thanks and gratitude - prayers to the great ONE. A Buddha lunch of (meat free) cuisine is offered (around the back in a small cafeteria) - by donation. The International Buddhist Temple is a soulful pace to visit any day of the week. I wish I lived closer, I'd come more often.
  • Very good maintenance. I saw many devout people there praying. I sense the same.

Where to stay in Richmond

Many travelers visit Richmond on their way to or from Vancouver International Airport, so the city's accommodations cater primarily to visitors in transit. Bridgeport Road, which leads directly to the airport, offers the best selection, with comfortable but rather dull chain hotels offering a clean, comfortable place to rest before a long flight. If you're looking for something with a bit more character, head to Blundell Road to choose from a range of independent guesthouses and bed and breakfasts.
