We drove out from Revelstoke to see Sutherland Falls and to have a swim. The swimming area is very nice with a sandy beach. It is kid friendly with lots of places to dig in the sand. The only problem ...  more »

The mosquitoes! Oh my God, the mosquitoes! So flippin' many! You can't breathe without almost sucking a bunch up your nose. We were going to camp here, but I'm glad we took a day trip first. The campground seems nice, there's a playground for the kids, but the man- made wading pool thing there is a giant mosquito factory. Like I'm not explaining myself properly. I camp, I know there are mosquitoes outside, but like, there are not enough citronella candles in the world. If you go, bring deet. Like bathe in it.

Beautiful, easy to get waterfall! Plus sweet camping spot with lot of shade.

This is an amazing camp site. Tuck in by the river, the camp sites are well proportioned and laid out. Each site feels very private and has a fire pit. The only negative is the mosquitoes. Bring plenty of spray!

Beautiful location. Really quiet with no road noise at night. The swimming lake that has been built is great for kids and families. Surrounded by lush forest, I would recommend staying here - even in the overflow section as we did!

Best camping I've ever experienced. Beautiful, clean, quiet location. Cannot recommend enough. Loved it here.

Where to stay in Revelstoke

Revelstoke's position on the Columbia River endows it with scenic vistas, and most of the accommodations in town take advantage of this by offering waterfront views. Stay at one of the many bed and breakfasts, inns, hotels, or lodges on the east side of the river to make the most of the scenery. If you visit Revelstoke to ski--between November and April--stay south of the town center, in a ski chalet at the foot of Revelstoke Mountain. There, you'll be perfectly placed to catch a gondola up the mountain and shred down its slopes.
