Casino Regina, Regina

3.2
#1 of 10 in Casinos in Saskatchewan
An erstwhile Beaux Arts railway station turned gambling hub, Casino Regina draws scores of visitors to its array of slot machines, table games, and poker rooms. Completed in 1912, the railway station sustained damage from the historic Regina Cyclone that same year, which wreaked havoc on the town. With the original facade redone (in a more austere Art Deco style), terrazzo floors, marble support columns and plaster-molded ceilings, today the casino brims with elegance. However, a small parking lot and lack of reasonably priced food undermines all that splendor a bit; stop by one of the nearby restaurants and park your car in the vicinity before all the fun and games. • I got coupons again (one per month) and managed to cash out a little money on my last two trips to the casino. It was not busy either time, but I did go on weekdays. I didn’t have to circle around in ...  more »

  • For the best poker room... I'm a loyalist. Enjoy the dealers and fellow poker players. Tournaments are also fun for me. And I like to take a spin on the roulette tables. Meals, club card, promotions... makes it my 5 star rating
  • I am no gambler so I will only review the Show Lounge. The venue is absolutely first rate. No such thing as a bad seat as the sighting angles are great and the distances are not too far. The place seats about 650 and when full it really rocks. The performers seem to like it as many have come back for repeat engagements. The ticket prices are never that expensive and usually there are seats available but some sell out with in an hour or so of announcement as it depends on the particular act. I have never heard an unintentional sour note in this venue as it seems the acoustics are really good. I went to a rock show most recently and even with the band playing quite loudly the sound was set up in a clear and clean manner such that I had no ringing in my ears or headaches the day after. Most welcome let me tell you. I urge one and all to go to see something here as the relative intimacy of this place is nice touch.
  • Completely disgusted with management and security. My friends and I went out for a good nigh. After being there for a few hours and spending tons of money, a friend and I went to the bathroom. As girls we didn't even think twice about sharing the same stall. Once we were almost done a security guard knocked on our door and accused us of doing drugs in the stall because she watched us threw the crack in the stall. 1st of all, we were NEVER EVER doing drugs and then to be told we were watched well using the washroom is a total violation of our privacy. We will never be back and I will be telling everyone I know about the experience we had here. I felt completely violated. After calling and asking to speak to someone in charge, I was told they would phone me back and nothing. Completely disgusted. We will also be going to media outlets with our story so everyone can know your staff watches people in the bathroom stall peeing.
  • Had lunch there and the food was horrible. If you are going to play the machines it's like any other casino. The decor is nice and I love the building.
  • Come for the gambling and stay for the brunch! Seriously the actual casino is pretty good but the "brunch" is probably the worst thing ive ever attempted to eat! Third world street meat is more palatable and easier on your insides.

Where to stay in Regina

For convenience, there's no better area to stay than the downtown, between the central station and Wascana Lake. If proximity to the station is important to you, stay north at one of the chain hotels along Saskatchewan Drive. If you'd rather be surrounded by greenery, look south to the more low-key accommodations along College Avenue, which backs onto the large park bordering the lake. Victoria Avenue offers a good selection of hotels in the center, as well as a large cluster of inns and motels as you head east toward the city limits.
