  • This is an excellent spot for family picnics and outings. The Canyon Waterfall is a blast for kids of ALL ages and very economical. Some of the best memories here EVER!  more »
  • I went here a while back, river gets clogged easy, you can flip over, if it’s clogged you can get trapped, it happened to me, I flipped off the tube and got trapped under someone else’s, when his...  more »
  • This is a man made picnic area with a bit of a waterfall and flows down hill into a large shallow pool where kids can float down on a tube. Tube rentals are 2.00 a day I believe, and there are picnic....  more »

  • Really enjoyable outing! A great place to have a BBQ /picnic. The floating canyon is great for young children. Adults have slightly less fun as there are a couple points where people heavier than children get hung up. There are two sandy areas to set up and picnic tables everywhere. A large playground and a large grassy area to throw a football, kick a soccer ball, throw some discs. Tubes are $5 each. There is a concession there too selling cool treats. Just be slightly cautious as the final drop is fun but there is a right turn at the bottom of the canyon that actually isn't banked. You run I to a wall and then bounce into the pond. This could be an accident waiting to happen. There are also some beautiful trails to walk through along both the river and through the forest.
  • Cool free And fun. Bring your own tube or rent 1 for 5 bucks. Apparently don't forget photo id if you want to rent. Reasonable washrooms and lots of picnic tables and a big playground
  • Neat place but it gets really busy. The lazy river ride was fun but parents had to help relieve the log jams of people and tubes. There also wasn't enough people manning the concession stand as the tube rentals lines were long all day. Area is nice though.
  • Discovery Canyon has a great picnic area and a really nice playground. The canyon area is nice but can get really busy. I would recommend staying close to younger kids as the tubes can flip. It's perfect for kids 6-12 years old. Older or heavier kids might drag along the bottom.
  • Good job City of Red Deer for providing this place for people to visit. Great place to take the family on warm/hot summer days. Public washrooms, play ground, tubing and water play area. Tube rentals available on site. Weather restricted operations.
