Growing out of a fort built in the early 17th century, the development of the area has been slow and steady, thanks to the military presence and fortifications. You'll see the positive impact that influence has had on the area, with its pleasant 19th century architecture, masses of parks and open spaces, and thriving local businesses. • From the Château Frontenac to the wood-deCoulonge Park, via Grande-Allée and the plains of Abraham is good walk in this neighborhood where greenery and terraces have coincided. If the plains of Abraham are well known, the wood Coulonge Park often remains a secret for the tourists and offer him as a magnificent point of view on the St-Lawrence. Along the way, a stop at the National Museum of fine arts for a great meal and a visit is also recommended. St-Jean Street with its many shops is equal very interesting for those who seek a little souvenir to take.
