This terrace can be seen as a connection point between the Citadel and the terraces closer to Frontenac. The Dufferin Terrace above the position expands the picture which is presented to the eye, but also walks away. However it is a good lookout, surrounded by greenery, and easily accessible in, or from, walk towards the Citadel and Plains of Abraham.

More steps uphill to get up to the park but once you're there you get a great view of the Chateau and the river. Nice place for a picnic but there's not any shade up there.  more »

Where to stay in Quebec City

Most accommodations cluster on the west side of the St. Lawrence River, with the city's split-level old town offering the widest range of options and best access to top attractions. Stay in the upper town to be close to the castle and enjoy views over the river. What the lower town lacks in panoramas, it makes up for in historic charm and access to riverside cafes and restaurants. If you want a less-touristy experience, consider the up-and-coming neighborhood of St. Roch, whose cafes, bars, restaurants, and artistic spaces make it an alternative traveler's paradise.
