  • We participated in a tour of the park with Denis. It takes 1 hour 15 minutes. No reservation is necessary and the guided tour is free. The tours take place from May 20 to October 9 Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Departure times are: 10 h 30, 13 h and 15 h. The tour starts in the Interpretation Centre located near the stables about 1/2 km from the main parking lot. The visit makes us discover the great root cellar, the Arboretum and the pergola which offers a magnificent view on the marina of Sillery. We continue the tour passing near the central fountain and pointing us to the location of the old villa ravaged by fire in 1966. We continue to the barn, the sugar shack and the tour ends near the caretaker's House. After the tour, we went to eat at Café 47 located in the home of the keeper of the Park of the wood-de-Coulonge.

  • Beautiful place to go for an easy walk. Wide, stroller-friendly paths, a park for kids, and picnic tables. Free parking on the weekends.
  • Great place for outdoor activities. Loved the view over the river. Well kept garden and installations. Small kids playground but amazingly large areas for running, playing sports on the grass
  • Beautiful and calm. Great landscape view
  • Relaxing place. Great for families and lovers.
  • Very nice park, my favorite in Québec city. You will see here a lot of squirrels and birds.

Where to stay in Quebec City

Most accommodations cluster on the west side of the St. Lawrence River, with the city's split-level old town offering the widest range of options and best access to top attractions. Stay in the upper town to be close to the castle and enjoy views over the river. What the lower town lacks in panoramas, it makes up for in historic charm and access to riverside cafes and restaurants. If you want a less-touristy experience, consider the up-and-coming neighborhood of St. Roch, whose cafes, bars, restaurants, and artistic spaces make it an alternative traveler's paradise.
