Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, Quebec City
(4.3/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
From its single white steeple to its grey stone exterior, Notre-Dame-des-Victoires evokes all the charm you'd expect from the old part of the city. Construction began in 1687 in the Colonial French style, underlined by the intricate white and gold details on the interior. The interior pays tribute to Quebec faith and history with representative sculptures and motives throughout, and the naval ship suspended from the ceiling is not to be missed. A British bombardment destroyed the original church, leading to its 1816 rebuild. The church has since been named a National Historic Site of Canada. • Quebec City is full of history and this church is Canada's oldest stone church built in 1688. It is located on the Place-Royal Square. There is a large model boat suspended from the ceiling - not some...  more »
  • When walking the old Quebec stop there why not a very nice old church and Many wedding there. It is so well located .
  • Situated in the heart of the old town, on the square is therefore visited by many tourists, in an area of restaurants, bars and shops with a lot of movement around. Is a small, simple Church and without the grandeur of other places of worship. Is old at the time of colonization, made in stone and inside has a boat, perhaps to recall the arrival of Europeans.

  • Met Flake of Rammstein after visiting the church on july 16, 2016. He was doing his ritual walk around the city and my girlfriend recognized him even though being dressed very casual. Met him in front of the church! He was kind enough to pose for a picture with my girlfriend! Very nice man. Miracle indeed!
  • Beautiful historic church with amazing stained glass. Take the free tour in order to see the sanctuary and relics. Beautiful paintings of St Genevieve. Boat models a plus..
  • nice and beautiful small historic church. but it's the place royale that makes you travel in time. excellent place to go while in quebec city.
  • Historic church in the centre of charming Place Royale.
  • A good place to visit if you are particularly fond of history. Otherwise there's nothing exciting or special about it.
