  • We found it expensive and with very few works. Only local artists, in small quantities and of very dubious taste. The local architecture is interesting. However I do not recommend. However the surrounding park is absolutely beautiful. It is worth walking around the Museum. It's a place with large trees, very beautiful.

  • We visited this museum on a Wednesday night with our children. The release gave pleasure to everyone. Wonderful collection of Inuit art.

  • One of the buildings was closed, but we were able to visit the other two. There was an exhibit of 4 Canadian Contemporary Artists, a large display of decorative arts by Quebec designers, and the Inuit...  more »

  • Came here on our visit to Quebec City and it was absolutely wonderful. The different exhibits were so beautiful and inspiring. There are multiple different parts to the museum. One part used to be an old prison and still has some of the old cells intact which were pretty cool to see. We ate at the restaurant thats to your right when you walk in the front. We thought it was the cafe...let's say dont go there if you are really hungry. They have 3 plates to choose from. Vegetarian, surf, and turf. We both got vegetarian. It was just spaghetti squash, a pear salad, and a chunk of watermelon with goat cheese on it. It was $36 for the both of us. Save your money and get a croissant at the cafe. Other than that, the art and exhibits were very interesting and I would recommend this to anyone who visits Quebec.
  • This place is ok. It gives a light aspect to what a museum is. The artifacts are not of particular interest neither the building. It is however fun.
  • Huge gallery with good variety of displays and exhibitions. Comfortable seating areas and helpful staff. Free coat check was very handy. Onsite restaurant had a fixed price lunch menu that was well priced and delicious. We ate on a gorgeous outdoor terrace.
  • Definitely worth visit if you like modern art. Collection is much better than sfmoma. Don't have big names or mega $$$$ art like Moma but we feel Quebecois artists are as good as any in North America.
  • Easy to navigate. Lots of explanation for the art. Courteous attendances. Enjoy the afternoon thanks.

Where to stay in Quebec City

Most accommodations cluster on the west side of the St. Lawrence River, with the city's split-level old town offering the widest range of options and best access to top attractions. Stay in the upper town to be close to the castle and enjoy views over the river. What the lower town lacks in panoramas, it makes up for in historic charm and access to riverside cafes and restaurants. If you want a less-touristy experience, consider the up-and-coming neighborhood of St. Roch, whose cafes, bars, restaurants, and artistic spaces make it an alternative traveler's paradise.
