  • The model and description of the battles of Quebec City were interesting. There's not much else here, so it was expensive.  more »
  • This attraction is highly educational, and helps to understand the history of Quebec, and the franco-British squabble for appropriating this strategic site. The history of the "manufacture" of this attraction is very interesting. The show lasts just 30 minutes and costs $8.50.

  • Good overview of the history of the wars in Quebec. There is a model that lights up and really helps you understand how the battles players out. Really enjoyed the film and learning about the history  more »

  • Excellent animated diarama to focus your tour of Québec City. For all ages. An essential concise military history of the early part of the last 400 years.
  • Great little museum!! This is the perfect place to start your trip to Quebec. It is a simple diorama of the city and surrounding area, in a sit down theater. They narrate the history of the city with clever lighting and special effects. Truly Unique exhibit well worth admission price. It is a great way to get a feel for the city landscape and historical context. Very kid friendly. The museum is upstairs, there is an unrelated coffee shop downstairs which share a common entrance. Often the line out the door is for seating to the restaurant, not the museum. So don't forget to Ask
  • Simply brilliant way to tell a historical story about Quebec and the surrounding area through models, lighting and great visuals. Great value for money as under tens were free.
  • Awesome show explains Quebec's history
  • I thought that this was the best way to start our visit to Quebec. This is a basement sized diorama integrated with sound and lights. It provides an excellent visualization of the terrain , the location of the city and the tactics used in the battle. I would see this museum first to get a good idea of the 1759 battles that were fought here. Also, it makes a great resting spot after you have climbed the escarpment to the Chateau Frontiac square. Shame on you who take the funicular!

Where to stay in Quebec City

Most accommodations cluster on the west side of the St. Lawrence River, with the city's split-level old town offering the widest range of options and best access to top attractions. Stay in the upper town to be close to the castle and enjoy views over the river. What the lower town lacks in panoramas, it makes up for in historic charm and access to riverside cafes and restaurants. If you want a less-touristy experience, consider the up-and-coming neighborhood of St. Roch, whose cafes, bars, restaurants, and artistic spaces make it an alternative traveler's paradise.
