  • I like it the view of the Plaine d Abraham the St lawrence River and the Structure of the Martello Towers .. a must see in Quebec
  • Built in 1812, the Martello towers (originally the number 4), are part of the military defense system deployed by the British to protect an invasion of Canada by the U.S. Army following the independence of the United States (1776). They are aligned to protect the fortifications of the city facing an attack from the West, hence a greater thickness of the walls on the West side and a lower resistance of the walls of the side is to ensure their destruction in the event of capture by the enemy. Directly located on the plains of Abraham, the #1 and #2 towers are used as Museum and during activities such as Halloween. The #3 tower was demolished in 1904 while the Tower of #4, the most unknown to the public, is secretly perched above the lower town of Quebec City, at the level of the Lavigueur Street, the area of St. John the Baptist.
