  • I loved! The garden of Apothecaries, the instruments which were used to make operations at the time where the anesthesia did not exist, the chapel of the Augustinian etc. Really, the Augustine brought a lot to our country!

  • We did not stay at this place, just visited the museum which we found quite fascinating. The Augustinian Sisters were nurses (as opposed to the Ursulines who were teachers) who came to Quebec back in ...  more »

  • Wonderful not for profit hotel. Extra money goes to preservation of the building. Rich history and hallways are a museum you are free to walk through and enjoy. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. If you have a car I recommend passing to park in the lot on site. Room was tiny (think cruise ship or European hotel), but cozy and comfortable. We will stay here again our next visit to Quebec.
  • Amazing! So close to Old Quebec City. The Monastery has so much history and charm. Highly recommend.
  • Very nice hotel with amazing breakfast! Clean rooms and friendly staff. Located directly in the city center!
  • Very unique building. The rooms were very comfy. Access to the old parts of the building (church, courtyard) was very cool. Took some time just to explore the hotel. Overall very pleasant experience.
  • I took a guided tour or the museum section. I was amazin. Beautiful place. There is a lot of antique furniture, medical tools, cooking stuff. There is so much history behind this place. I would have spent more than 1.5h there

Where to stay in Quebec City

Most accommodations cluster on the west side of the St. Lawrence River, with the city's split-level old town offering the widest range of options and best access to top attractions. Stay in the upper town to be close to the castle and enjoy views over the river. What the lower town lacks in panoramas, it makes up for in historic charm and access to riverside cafes and restaurants. If you want a less-touristy experience, consider the up-and-coming neighborhood of St. Roch, whose cafes, bars, restaurants, and artistic spaces make it an alternative traveler's paradise.
