Church Tourist Spot
Attend mass or simply soak in the atmosphere at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the first Anglican church in Canada. The Georgian structure dates back to the 19th century, and boasts absorbing stained glass windows and other meticulously rendered decor. Learn about its construction and the local history on site, and pay attention to the old organ that still produces striking sounds. If you have the chance, see the bells--allegedly the oldest in the country. Arrange to visit Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and other attractions in Quebec City using our Quebec City trip builder.

  • We visited here for about 45 minutes. It has quite a lot of history and is almost as much of a museum as it is a church. It is not nearly as ornate as the Basicila but it is lovely.  more »
  • Wandered in this Cathedral and were surprised to see the items on display like a mini museum! A treat to experience!  more »
  • Great for a short, and respectful, visit and the interior is quite magnificent. The exterior doesn't portray what you see inside and it is worth a short visit. Beautiful ceiling.  more »

  • There, you can find a truly, genuinely welcoming congregation that addresses the challenges of the present day while preserving and celebrating its rich liturgical tradition. The cathedral is also a great venue for high-quality classical music concerts. There is a Festival of Lessons and Carols during Advent, and Evensong from time to time. The main Choral Eucharist is in English, and there is an early Eucharist in French.
  • So at Home. Great community. A good place of worship.
  • A most welcoming church and so much more beautiful than I expected from the plain outside. The young guides had lots to share about the church and it's history. Don't miss the "Kings Gift" a permanent exhibit that has recently been completed for display.
  • Looks good from outside but closed.
  • Beautiful church near the river. Artisan stores in the 6ard are very nice.
