(4.4/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Stroll through Battlefields Park (Parc des Champs-de-Bataille), a historical urban national park and green lung of Quebec City. Established as a park in 1908, the area contains the Plains of Abraham--site of a famous 1759 battle between British and French forces. The British victory proved decisive for the subsequent development of the nation. View numerous pieces of artillery sprawled across the park and admire the Martello towers, which the British built to defend the city against an American siege. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Quebec City holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Battlefields Park (Parc des Champs-de-Bataille) and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • This is a fantastic place to enjoy with family. People go there for picnics. It has historic significance. Could not spend much time due to sudden rain.
  • Historic Quebec City, very near the old town, quiet, with hiking trails, benches, wonderful, free garden.

  • Historically, the importance of the place is great, but there's not much to see, because they're just empty most of the year. The visit is only worth, if anything, for the view.
