#5 of 28 in Parks in Quebec City
Stroll through Battlefields Park (Parc des Champs-de-Bataille), a historical urban national park and green lung of Quebec City. Established as a park in 1908, the area contains the Plains of Abraham--site of a famous 1759 battle between British and French forces. The British victory proved decisive for the subsequent development of the nation. The Park is beautiful, very nice for a picnic with a view on the St-Laurent. Visit the round Martello 1 and the Museum of battlefields after. Exciting and great fun for children.

The Battlefields Park/Plains of Abraham area is great if you are a runner, although be prepared for plenty of hills so make sure you are in shape. For non-runners, the view is spectacular and plenty o...  more »

This place is part of another large park, where you can start a walk, a moment of meditation, take advantage of the visual and the fresh air or do a picnic! It's too beautiful!

A beautiful spacious park along the shore of the St. Lawrence River is definitely worth visiting while in Quebec city. The scenery is incredible and for the most part does not allude to the fact that a bloody battle between the French and English happened on this spot 250 years ago. There are 2 Mortello towers in the park to showcase the military past but also a very colorful garden with a statue of Joan of Arc in it's center. A very large park that sits beside the Citadel and is very accessible to enjoy.

Quiet, peaceful, great for jogging and with great scenery. Beautiful setting where the faith of Canada was decided many years ago. Great for a picnic, great for biking, great overall.

Great place for jogging in the city! ...or to do a nice picnic with the family! It is Quebec city 's "Central park" with lots of history!

Spectacular views of the city. However a steep climb, not suitable for those who can't walk long distance

    Beautiful historic park. Well kept.

Where to stay in Quebec City

Most accommodations cluster on the west side of the St. Lawrence River, with the city's split-level old town offering the widest range of options and best access to top attractions. Stay in the upper town to be close to the castle and enjoy views over the river. What the lower town lacks in panoramas, it makes up for in historic charm and access to riverside cafes and restaurants. If you want a less-touristy experience, consider the up-and-coming neighborhood of St. Roch, whose cafes, bars, restaurants, and artistic spaces make it an alternative traveler's paradise.
