Battlefield
Stroll through Battlefields Park (Parc des Champs-de-Bataille), a historical urban national park and green lung of Quebec City. Established as a park in 1908, the area contains the Plains of Abraham--site of a famous 1759 battle between British and French forces. The British victory proved decisive for the subsequent development of the nation. View numerous pieces of artillery sprawled across the park and admire the Martello towers, which the British built to defend the city against an American siege. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Quebec City holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Battlefields Park (Parc des Champs-de-Bataille) and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • A park when I saw him almost die of astonishment. I'm from a tropical country and never had been able to appreciate all a white blanket of snow with fog and a strong wind. I almost froze me but we pulled it up with snowballs. Never will forget so much beauty. Beware of the revalones ice.
