this place is perfect to chill on the beach in summer, take a snooze or picnic, or just a walk/hike, pack some food and have fun!
This is a little treasure of a place. It's a small mountain lake close to the city and a great get away. We tend to go during weekdays as weekends are super busy and crowded. Also there are a lot of f... read more »
Usually crowded, the water is warm, a nice easy hike around the lake, the sand is pretty coarse, one beach more for family, the other for the young adult set. Still a great spot to visit and parking i... read more »
Swimmers Heaven! Wild geese frequent the location so step carefully. Sand and grass surround the lake. Concession and bathrooms on site. Even on the busiest days the lake is large enough to never feel too busy. Parking is ample but will fill up early on hot days. Arriving after noon means a looooong walk from the main road so great there early! Picnic tables available but get taken quickly. Nice easy walk around the lake. Pets on leash on trails only, not at beach.

A beautiful place. Clean beach and cold, clear water. Great place for a family outing and picnic. Benches and tables available for BBQ. Wahsrooms are clean and accessible to everyone. Park Rangers always patrolling the beach area and the trails. The scenery is breathtaking, so much greenery and forest. Ample parking spots available. Ensure you take time to visit this place, it is an amazing experience to rest and relax away from the city.
Secluded stretch of paradise within the city limits. Feels like you're somewhere far off, surrounded by nature. Clear water and a spectacular view. Great place for anyone looking to have a beach day. Surrounding hiking trails are a nice touch.
It's a calm gorgeous beach! Fun spot for a barbeque with bunch of friends or a nice stroll with a pet will make your day! I love the trail with short wooden bridges... and there's a log pointing towards the lake, walking up to the end of the log gives a beautiful view!
Not too cold (certainly not hot, mind you), not murky or anything of the sort. The water and surrounding area is very nice, the scenery is pleasant. My only complaint is the rediculous crowds that show up by noon. If you want a half-decent spot on the beaches, prepare to arrive early.
