  • I've been visiting the Pickering Museum Village for nigh on a quarter century now, and can honestly say it is definitely the place to go if one needs some schooling in the lessons of the pioneers, the place to go if one wants to enjoy the fresh air along with some fresh baked scones, and definitely the place to go if one wants the feeling of actually living in a time period before cell phones, internet, fast cars, and the daily stresses we feel in the 21st century. Staff are wonderful, polite, and fun to talk to... Great place for weddings, photo shoots and birthday parties. My choice for a museum in Southern Ontario.
  • Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, that really give you a glimpse of how the land was settled and the lives that pioneers led. I have been to other pioneer villages that were larger but this was the most informative. We tried ice cream made as the pioneer would have and made rope and wood nails. Definitely something interesting to do with your family.
  • Rude staff, heavy on sarcasm, light on educational benefit for children attending. Markham Museum has polite staff and informative programs for kids. Black Creek Pioneer Village, another great alternative to Pickering. I gave Pickering a one star as there was no option for zero.
  • Great selection of exhibits which show the progression of the early settlers in the area.
