  • Saw the recent exhibit of the syrian art of over 19 artists with 95 pieces. It was so great to see something from a war-torn country and directly from people who were born there. It was great to see that Penticton could bring such a wonderful display of art and culture I took many pictures and even only had a short time to go I really enjoyed every min I was there the exhibit is only on until Sept.11,2016.
  • Came here when the Buddhist monks were here creating their Mandala
  • On the south shore of Okanagan Lake, this small gallery has taken on a big challenge... This month, they have mounted an exhibition by artists from Afghanistan. "The Kabul Art Project: Contemporary Art From Afghanistan". I do not know whether this exhibition will be seen anywhere else in North America, but it is here, now, and should be seen. The entire gallery has been devoted to works in ink, paint and watercolour that try to capture the complex relationships that govern those who are trying to live out their lives in a perpetual war zone. Admission to the Gallery is posted at $2.00 per person, but it is not enforced. The delightful attendant asked us if we could make a donation (which we did) and there was no requirement that anything be paid. In any case, it is posted as free on weekends! There is plenty of free parking on site, and it is readily accessible from downtown Penticton. There is an interesting (quirky) gift shop. The exhibition we saw will be gone in mid-September, but we're confident that this gallery will mount something else that is special in the days to come.
  • Great little art gallery. It is constantly having wonderful shows, live entertainment, educational programs...A nice gift shop. Wonderful hub of activity for locals and tourists
  • Fantastic gallery. Great event space.

Where to stay in Penticton

Penticton's position between two lakes means that you're likely to enjoy waterfront views no matter where you stay. The town center, on the southern shore of Okanagan Lake, represents the most popular place to stay, with a host of motels and resorts offering views over the water. Head south down Skaha Lake Road--itself littered with accommodations--and you'll find quieter inns and motels offering vistas over the smaller but equally scenic Skaha Lake. Head just out of town along the east shore of Okanagan Lake and you can stay in a bed and breakfast or guesthouse among the region's wineries.
