We were lucky enough to have met the owner, Luke Smith, when we visited. We've read about his Pinot Noir wines, but we were impressed even further when we tasted them. We bought a couple of bottles of...  more »

We Had a wonderful time here. It just started to rain but they were happy to make us a hot dog anyway. Their Pinot noir is a favourite of mine! Staff was great! Will return

    Excellent Pinot Noir.

It was end of a long day that we visited Howling Bluff. I was looking for a good Pinot to have with dinner and had been disappointed with many of the wines I had tasted earlier in the day. Another winery suggested stopping at Howling Bluff which was not at all on our radar. A small unassuming place which is easily over looked. I am glad we stopped. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who I think is the owner. He loved to describe his wines in terms of food and destinations. He was a lot of fun and I found a wonderful bottle of Pinot that I was after. We continue to travel to Osoyoos stopping at wineries over the next couple days. Howling Bluff was the best overall visit in terms of quality of product and tasting experience.

Knowledgeable staff. Smaller and intimate wintery. Semillon was amazing

Where to stay in Penticton

Penticton's position between two lakes means that you're likely to enjoy waterfront views no matter where you stay. The town center, on the southern shore of Okanagan Lake, represents the most popular place to stay, with a host of motels and resorts offering views over the water. Head south down Skaha Lake Road--itself littered with accommodations--and you'll find quieter inns and motels offering vistas over the smaller but equally scenic Skaha Lake. Head just out of town along the east shore of Okanagan Lake and you can stay in a bed and breakfast or guesthouse among the region's wineries.
