Hillside Estate Winery, Penticton
(4.2/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Wine enthusiasts will appreciate Hillside Estate Winery, a vineyard with a flavorful variety of wines to sample. The winery dates back to 1984, when husband-and-wife team Bohimir and Vera Klolocka began converting their apricot orchard into a vineyard. Now owned by a group of investors and run by expert winemakers, the winery caters to a global market with a range of top-quality wines. A brief tour covers the facilities; linger over a tasting and sit down to a meal at the bistro (try the excellent soup). • I didn't eat here unfortunately. We had tastings in their seemingly forgotten about tasting room to the side. I really didn't like too many wines (although they were great quality, just not the tastes I like), and my server was dead set on finding me one I liked. Eventually I left with a great pinot that was the last I tried. Great service, great views, and good wines if you prefer the lighter varieties.
  • Everyone needs to eat, but eating here was a pleasure. I decided to have "just" the burger. Wow, it was the tastiest burger I've had in a long time, possibly ever. My wife had the beef carpaccio (which was alos great) and a flight of wine. Our only disappointment was that the wine shop was sold out of the Viognier.
  • The seared tuna and wagyu beef carpaccio appetizers are a good mix of textures and flavours. The halibut was delicious too. I recommend that you reserve a table for dinner so that you can watch a beautiful sunset from the second floor patio.
  • We had a wonderful lunch here. There were 6 of us and all enjoyed the food. Really liked the soup. If your visiting would highly recomend you stop here. We had a slight wait as the place was full. Well worth the wait though. Will be coming back again for sure.
  • Absolutely stunning and the wine is amazing along with their upstairs patio and food. An absolute must on a wine tour.
