  • Each time we have visited Rathtrevor Beach it has been winter. Usually off season rates in Parksville Resort area are really good. So we often stay here then. You can walk from many of the resorts alo...  more »
  • Beautiful scenic area. Plenty of picnic tables which would make a great summer location. Right on the beach, which had amazing low tides for walking the sandbar.  more »
  • We stayed 2 nights at Rathtrevor, and had a great time. The sites are nice prov park sites; spacious and private. The amenities are great. Washrooms are clean, and showers were not too busy (not the m...  more »

  • Lovely campground. I recommend not tenting in the new section as it is probably best suited for trailers/RV's. We switched to tenting in the grass and it was perfect. We had our own fire pit , picnic table and a sink for use to do dishes, etc.. Everything, including outhouses and showers/washrooms were clean and in great condition. We were close to the beach as well. We will go back again and again.
  • World class day beach and campground. Low tide brings endless sandy beaches to explore and play in. Book early for camping as reservations are accepted but fill early.
  • Vancouver Island's most popular parks is definitively on the list when thinking about camping. Open all-year long the park has many things to offer including private campsites, large beach, kid friendly and walking distance to so many great things in the area. Make sure you get reservations in the summer as it can fill up.
  • Great Beach, lots of trails and places to stay. Campings spots and gazebos for rent. Recently renovated for the better.
  • Great place to take the kids and have fun exploring the beach all day! Lots of picnic tables, trails, and space so you aren't cramped even with lots of people.

Where to stay in Parksville

Most accommodations in the town center look over the Strait of Georgia. Here, along Island Highway, you'll find primarily chain hotels, resorts, and motels offering clean and comfortable lodgings within walking distance of the town's amenities. If you want to enjoy the region's pristine nature, you can find more interesting accommodations just east down the highway, around the border of Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. Beach resorts with swimming pools, quaint holiday cottages, and secluded forest retreats provide easy access to both the beach and the national park.
