  • Stopped by here with my dog and went for a walk while the tide was about 1\2 out, so tranquil when there's not many people around.  more »
  • Went on a nice walk. Looped around from Ty na Mara lodge. A little snowy on the path but a beautiful walk none the less. Do not walk your dog on the beach area adjacent to the park area. Park ranger p...  more »

  • One of the true jewels of Vancouver Island. Great beach to visit year round to watch nature and enjoy the views. We love the modern playgrounds and the well kept campground too. An amazing place to experience nature. We have had seals come within 10 feet of us at the beach!
  • We loved Rathtrevor Park. We spent five days there at the end of November. It was a bit damp, but it didn't stop us from enjoying the shoreline and the fantastic views. We followed the shoreline and river to Parksville one morning, hiked through the forest, and had a campfire every night. The park attendants were pleasant and helpful. Can't wait to go back again this summer!
  • This is an amazing park for the whole family. It has fantastic sites, amenities, and beach. There is a great park for the kids with a cool bike park that's great for young riders. Be sure to check out the nature hut too. Of course the beach is unlike any other. It's so great for skim boarding, walking, biking or just hanging and playing in the sand. When the tide is in it is really warm and great to play in. Go check it out.
  • Was indeed very pretty here. Wasn't too busy when I went, so really quiet and relaxed. There's drinking water, showers, flush toilets and lots of drop toilets. Separate area for walk-in tenting. Shop at the entrance to the park. Pub within walking distance.
  • Lovely little cottage a stone's throw from the water. We had a great time.

Where to stay in Parksville

Most accommodations in the town center look over the Strait of Georgia. Here, along Island Highway, you'll find primarily chain hotels, resorts, and motels offering clean and comfortable lodgings within walking distance of the town's amenities. If you want to enjoy the region's pristine nature, you can find more interesting accommodations just east down the highway, around the border of Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. Beach resorts with swimming pools, quaint holiday cottages, and secluded forest retreats provide easy access to both the beach and the national park.
