TD Place Stadium is a 24,000-seat stadium in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located at Lansdowne Park, on the southern edge of The Glebe neighbourhood, where Bank Street crosses the Rideau Canal. It is the home of the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League and the Ottawa Fury FC of the North American Soccer League . It was known as Frank Clair Stadium until it was renamed on January 7, 2014. It has existed in rudimentary form since the 1870s, and as a complete stadium since 1908.HistoryThe playing field, part of the Ottawa Exposition Grounds, was first cleared in the 1870s. It was used for equestrian events, lacrosse and rugby football. The first permanent grandstand was built on the north side of the playing field in 1908. It was demolished in 1967 to build a new set of stands with an integrated ice hockey arena underneath, known as the Ottawa Civic Centre.A small grandstand was built in the 1920s on the south-side of the field, and it was replaced in 1960. A second deck for the south-side was added during the 1970s. As of 2008, prior to lower south-side demolition, the overall stadium had a 30,927 capacity for football.

  • Our team, Sask Riders, was playing at the stadium against the Ottawa Redblacks. We were on our way home from Newfoundland & Maritimes so we attended. Wow what game! Great stadium!
  • Haven't been here since the "facelift" a few years ago but what a change. This place has the opportunity to host a lot of activities and with a beautiful backdrop! Glad they kept the cattle castle! Gr...  read more »
  • I went to the stadium for a Red Blacks game. After the Security check, I went inside to find my seat. It was kind of confusing since my section was a letter, and the sections I saw were numbers, but I...  read more »
  • seems only people complaining are the ones that went to UFC night lol what do you expect ya donkies the civic centre although updated is still quite old. Stop whining. RRRRRRRRRRREDBLACKS
  • Thought the renovations to the TD Place Arena would much better, but when I finally got some Intel on the renovations and would it looked like afterwards kinda caught me by surprise. The large screen on the south side wall replaced the scoreboard and no one on the south side could see it. The players benches were moved to the north side from the south side after the 2014-15 season. I went to three games that season, and me and my friend chuckled and criticized section 1 where fans with obesity issues got to eat prime ribs and other mouth-watering foods as long as getting season tickets for $1200. The section was sectioned off with a rope and security guards present. The boxes that surround 3/4 of the arena were incomplete and left unfinished. The arena will make more sense with box seats instead of section 1 being roped off. I appreciate the renovation efforts, but whoever did it, did a piss-port job. Lets fix it before the 2016-17 season. You have 3 months. Get to work!!!
  • Left the UFC 5 fights in and watched them remainder of event at home. The conditions in there were crazy hot!! Was able to sell my tickets because they were scanning out tickets to allow people to get air. So that was a bit of a plus I guess. I left with enough money to go buy booze at the LCBO. Haha Seriously though, go look at the Chris Weidman Q&A before the weigh-ins, they were struggling the previous day as well.
  • The stadium is beautiful. I've been here 3 times, all of which have been to watch soccer games - 2 FIFA and one road to Rio Summer Olympics game. On a sunny day, the stadium is perfect. It is only when it starts to rain that it becomes a little less than perfect as there are no covers for the stands. Once a removable roof is added to the stadium, it will definitely be worth 5 stars.
  • By far worst experience ever! Ruined my experience at my first UFC fight night. With no AC and a sold out arena it was disgustingly hot in the arena. At one point I almost felt like I could faint. Sadly I paid for tickets but watched most of the fights from the TVs in the halls of the concession stands because It was cooler than where I was sitting. Paid 50 dollars for bottled water just to stay hydrated and "cool." TD place took advantage of the heat by charging 4.25 a bottle. If you don't have a proper AC system at least charge half price for your water! I realize they can't control the heat outside. But you certainly should be able to control the heat for your guests who PAID to be there! Will never go back to this arena again. If you want to be a world class event host, act like one!! If I could rate this venue a 0 I would have.
