  • Wow located on the Rideau River, this is an absolutely beautiful spot to take the kids or entire family for a day out. Both the beach and river are lovely and so very clean. A lifeguard is not always ...  more »
  • One of the few pieces that can be compared to a beach. Obviously this weekend is besieged by tourists, but during the week you can relax without too much flutter. It is easy to reach by bus and get off at Riverside 87/ridgewood. The beach is well serviced with public restrooms, drinking fountains, free BBQ, bar and positions controls lifeguards up at 7:00 pm The beach is completely free and you can also use the views of neighboring lawns. Overall positive judgment.

  • Beautiful beach, restaurant and bar on site. Access to toilets and a place to change. There are beach volleyball fields, you can rent water equipment, etc. There is a bicycle nearby, a very large park with structures for young children. The Pirates adventure activity nearby also. The sand is fine. There is paid parking. This is the place for dragon boat racing.

  • Great sledding here! High hill even for adults to enjoy it! We used the small hill for our toddler's fun
  • Really enjoyed the cross country skiing trails. It is a kid friendly park with a wicked sliding hill for all ages to enjoy.
  • It was a July Sunday afternoon when we drove in from the south end of Ottawa to visit Jacques Cartier Park. After circling around the park for a while, it became apparent that there was not a parking spot to be found. So we gave up and decided to go Mooney's Bay Park instead. In the large parking lot next to the track and field complex, we found less than half a dozen open spots but we're able to park. By this time, toilet facilities were required but none were apparent. The track and field complex had washrooms but they were locked. Fortunately, there were a couple of trees to provide some privacy and relief. We were then able to enjoy the new playground with all the many different ways of climbing, sliding, twirling and twisting. We rate the playground five stars, the parking one star and the toilet facility zero stars.
  • Amazing big park with several play structures and the beach is always clean and it's busy but you never feel crowded there.
  • The beach itself is very long and beautiful and has so much potential. But it is so very dirty. There isn't much parking and you have to pay for parking. Seems very unfair. I don't have to pay to park at other city beaches or parks. The new park is huge and great bur there is no shade whatsoever so it is scorching hot. My kids did not last more than 15 minutes because of this. And when we went to cool off at the beach it was so dirty and disgusting we decided to just leave. The smell coming from the water was disturbing. There is also a lack of picnic tables and benches. We were very disappointed. The public washrooms are also disgusting and dirty. We won't be returning.
