The Canadian Automotive Museum is an automobile museum located in Oshawa, Ontario. The museum features many Canadian-made cars as the automobile industry, specifically the Canadian division of the General Motors, known as General Motors Canada, which has always been at the forefront of Oshawa's economy.The museum was founded in 1962 by a group of Oshawa businessmen through the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce. The venture was initiated mainly to preserve the automotive history of Canada and to present this history in an educational and entertaining manner. Canadian Automotive Museum Inc is a charitable corporation and has been in operation since 1963.The museum is housed in a 25000sqft building in downtown Oshawa that was originally the location of Ontario Motor Sales, a local car dealership, in the 1920s. The building maintains its original period architecture right down to the original elevator used to move cars to the second floor.The Museum is affiliated with: CMA, CHIN, and Virtual Museum of Canada.Vehicles on displayThe museum has two floors: the ground floors features foreign cars, while the upstairs features a "Made in Canada" exhibit.

  • This is a small museum that has vehicles developed and made in Canada at the beginning of the horseless buggy era. How the tacked driving in snow and getting to repair phone lines in the winter. 
  • Staffs friendly and helpful.we were able to take photographs and sit in one of the vehicle . There is a wide variety of cars to see and written information provided to read. 
  • this is a great place to go with your family kids love seeing all the old cars. it has nice peopel working there and there very helpful. 
  • The tour guide was great and there was a lot of interesting cars. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He definitely taught us new things we didn't know before going. I had been before and it was great but, it is even better with a guide! Had a great time and definitely suggest for fun days out!

  • We had an enjoyable day at the museum; took lots of pictures and our guide was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Time went by so quickly, before we knew it, it was already closing time. I recommend this museum for all car lovers, young and old...
