Thousand Islands National Park is a boater's paradise in the heart of the Thousand Islands. Follow us on Twitter @TINationalPark

As a small protected area in the heart of the Thousand Islands, Thousand Islands National Park works to promote sustainable recreation while protecting the land and wildlife that make the area a popular tourist destination. The park is located in an area of rich biodiversity and is home to many species at risk.

Thousand Islands National Park consists of several ecologically important mainland properties and more than 20 islands between Kingston and Brockville. The Visitor Centre at Mallorytown Landing provides an introduction to the park with a hiking trail, interpretive programs, exhibits, and activities for the whole family.

The park is a key regional partner in encouraging sustainable lifestyles and in protecting the ecosystems of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve. The Biosphere Reserve, officially designated by the United Nations in 2002, recognizes the region as a place where people live, work, and enjoy a variety of economic and recreational activities based on respect for the environment.

Established in 1904 as the first Canadian national park east of the Rockies, St. Lawrence Islands celebrated its centennial in 2004. The unique ecosystem of the park will be preserved as a legacy for the next century and beyond.

You are invited to experience Thousand Islands National Park and enjoy the beauty of this fascinating region!

  • Cruise don't miss to close and admire the many beautiful islands with their homes from the cabin to the villas and even Castle, both on the Canadian side of the side US. But downside in July: a lot of people on the boat, which is difficult to find a place to make beautiful pictures. And no drink proposed on board... too bad for a several hour cruise

  • We joined a tour group but we did not get on any Islands. It was a very nice day when we were on a boat. There were so many little islands that the rich people owned! We had a lunch buffet in a restau...  more »
  • We chose the 1000isole tour of two hours and it was more than enough to get a feel of the place. We set off from Gananoque without a reservation online, but buying directly at the port. The Lake is beautiful and very characteristic small islands with one House. The Lake very much alive. Lovely day

  • Basically as the name says, a group of more than a 1000 islands. Every small land mass or rock above water is counted as an island :) But it is definitely worth a visit. The islands and houses on them are very beautiful. Take a ganonoque cruise from the canadian side, the boat will take you around all of them with some good commentary. There is one small island with a tiny bridge that crosses Canada/US border!!
  • I felt when i was over a boat cruising those islands like I was in magic land 😂 so nice😍👍👍👍👍
  • Naturally created 1864 small islands between Canada & USA. There is a smallest bridge connecting two countries.
  • I love the Thousand Islands. On one side you have New York and on the other you have Canada. If you go boating around, it's absolutely gorgeous. The weather is great and homes are beautiful. You might even come across a castle or two.
  • Good place for weekend....if you’re from Toronto or GTA
