  • Always a fun stop when we venture out of town! They do hive tours, mead/wine tastings, education on the indoor hive, and honey products galore! Family friendly, and great to support local!  more »
  • I have visited the Chinook Honey Company with my granddaughters. They loved seeing the bees and listening to the staff explain bee behaviour. I have also gone there to purchase mead and small gifts fo...  more »
  • This is a very nice family run apiary. The store is really well laid out with lots of items for sale. Lots of flavoured honeys as well to choose from. One item of interest that is different than many ...  more »

  • neat gift shop, excellent meadery, and a real live honeybee hive right in the store (safely behind plexiglas). It's super cool being able to get so close to the bees and watch them protecting their queen, cleaning the honeycombs, feeding the larvae, and doing their pollen dance. Honey samples were a treat.
  • Unique. Drive from Calgary is far, I do wish that the actual tour was more interactive. I had my niece and nephew down for the week and thought it would be pretty cool to go see some bees in action. The Tour was more of an informative talk (classroom setting) , I thought we would actually see how things are done on a walking type tour. To say the least the kids eyes were glazed over and there were other kids that seemed bored as well. I wasn't overly entertained. Apart of me feels like the drive wasn't worth it, but I did enjoy the gift shop the did have some pretty cool products. It was good for the kids to see some bees through a glass container built in the building. Our presenter seemed well educated, and knew her material. Over all it was a good experience.
  • You have to try it. It's fantastic flavour and nutrition. Wish they had a location in Calgary specially in winters when you most need it.
  • Worth a quick stop on the road between Okotoks and Black Diamond. They have a selection of locally produced honey and even mead for tasting and sale. Plus you can see bees in action, up close.
  • Great mead, and many great honey and honey products.
