  • My home and playground before it ever was a Provincial Park and was just a serenely beautiful old cattle trail day hike. All the many types of trails are very well managed and planned by locals for locals but with something for everyone. Lots of new mountain bike trails surrounding the mountain to explore or benches to quietly rest your bones while you hydrate and nosh on fresh grown fruit. NOTE! With that in mind make sure you read the area trail billboards to know where dogs and mountain bikes are allowed and everyone will like you more.
  • Absolutely stunning in all 4 seasons. Great variety of trails and beaches. Dog friendly beach is a great feature.
  • One of the most beautiful parks in BC if not the world, thanks to the lake and the characteristic biogeoclimatic zones of the Okanagan with Douglas fir forests, Ponderosa pine, bunchgrass and arrowleaf balsamroot (sunflowers), prickly pear cactus.. then there's the unbelievable clear green/blue Kal lake, several amazing beaches, granite rock formations, plenty of wildlife including deer, bear, cougar, bobcat, porcupine, maybe a few badgers?, several species of reptiles -notably Western rattlesnake, alligator lizard, and painted turtle, many species of birds like quail, pheasant, grouse, birds of prey, songbirds, waterfowl, marmots and lesser rodents. There are cliff diving spots, and many many kilometers of running, biking, hiking, and horse riding trails. But please don't go there because it is better if I have it to myself. ☺
  • A gem of nature. One of the nicest parks I've been to on the shores of magical Kal Lake
  • Great hiking, secluded dog beach. Awesome views everywhere.
