Castrol Raceway, formerly known as "Capital City Raceway Park", "Capital Raceway", "Labatt Raceway", and "Budweiser Motorsports Park", is a multi-track auto racing facility located just south of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located on land leased from the Edmonton International Airport, the clay oval opened in 1991 and the dragstrip opened in 1992. The facility went into receivership at the end of the 1997 season. It was purchased by Rob Reeves and ten other local racers and businessmen; it re-opened in 1998. Several of the investors have opted out since 2000 but do remain on as advertising sponsors of the facility. The track is now owned by Rob Reeves and Ron Hodgson. The facility features an 8,500-seat ¼ mile IHRA-sanctioned dragstrip, and a 4,500-seat 3/8 mile clay oval. There is also a pro motocross track, a mini-sprint car track, and a 2.7 km road course which opened in 2013.The biggest event currently held at the facility is on the drag strip. The annual IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals is the sixth of twelve national IHRA events held in North America. The second largest event at Castrol Raceway was held on the Oval track. The Oil City Cup featured the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. The World of Outlaws competed in Edmonton from 2007 - 2015.Use our Nisku trip generator to arrange your visit to Castrol Raceway and other attractions in Nisku.

Awesome track and amazing set up. Can book via Track Junkies or contact Castrol Raceway directly. Definitely a must if you want to test your car and skills limits when in Alberta, Canada.
Expensive visit. Oval side not the greatest for the price, head further east prices get more realistic. Drag side decent but still over priced. Washroom were pretty dirty.
The IHRA Rocky Mountain Nitro Jam Nationals are an awesome week-end event to experience. It's a definite must see event and we love attending each year. This year it will be on the week-end of July.15... read more »
So much fun! I have gone there several times and it is always good fun for everyone. Just be sure to bring ear plugs for kids or if you are sensitive to loud noises.
Went July 16 for the biggest event of the year, it was so much fun! I will definitely be back.. however drinks cost are like any other over priced place which I hate.
The only current Road Course in Alberta. Drag strip running street legals on Friday. Drop-in Drifting on Thursdays. Track Junkies runs lapping events on the Roadcourse. ASA AutoX on the roadcourse many Sundays.
For a fun time that don't cost an arm an leg. Great people and you can drag race with out being hassled by the cops. The food there is good too!!!
I have been here for multiple Rocky Mountain Nationals and Hot August Nights events. Only wish that they had more comfortable seating. Otherwise, Castrol Raceway is awesome!
