Silversmith Brewing Company, Niagara-on-the-Lake
(4.5/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Let your palate guide you at the ivy-covered church that houses Silversmith Brewing Company. In 2011, the founders sought out a rustic, 1890s church to house their craft brewery. The church brims with character, from exposed brick walls to a reclaimed barn wood bar. Under the same roof you'll find the brewery and beer hall, as well as knowledgeable guides to lead you through both. Sample the flagship black lager with sultry notes of chocolate and coffee while still light and crisp. A British pale ale, German wheat beer, fruity pale ale, and Irish oyster stout also fill the roster. • Beautifully converted church. Didn't do a tour but I think it would be worth it. All the beer is top notch.
  • Cool little place with good beer and oysters. It's a brewery but it would be nice if the menu was slightly larger. 3-5 more items.
  • Visited, for the first time, in February. Headed across the border this weekend, and this place is first on our list of stops. Love the atmosphere, love the food and LOVE the beer!
  • The only thing I'd add is more food choices, but the place is great. Good beer, good food, nice atmosphere.
  • Always a favourite to get out of wine country for a bit and into a quality beer joint. I always like the Bavarian Breakfast beer which is just the right balance of flavour and light-ness to set me right. I'm sure they have great food as well. My wife loves the black ale!
