  • This is a nice place to go to, if not for the fort itself, but for a short walk passed it to sit on the banks of the lake. It has some beautiful views and is rather secluded. You have to mind yourself...  more »
  • We didn't know this fort was in the golf course. We had never heard of it. We were walking along the sidewalk over there, when we read a sign for it. We thought we'd take a closer look. It was amazing...  more »

  • Fort grounds open but main structre is not. Good views of lake Ontario and Fort Niagara from rampart. Good for a quick walk through golf course.
  • The fort itself isn't open to the public, but the grounds are well maintained and worth checking out. Beautiful views of Lake Ontario.
  • Fort Mississauga is a very unique and beautiful spot and a "must" visit if you are interested in history when you come to Niagara on the Lake. It is unique that it stands in the middle of a golf course and has never been restored. You DO NOT need permission to visit this property and there is a path way leading to it from the corner of Simcoe Streets and Front. As far as I'm concerned it is one of the best kept secrets of parks Canada in the country. I visit it often and the ramparts around it offer a spectacular view of the lake. Parks Canada is in the process of securing the structure from any water damage and in town we all hope it will last another 200 years.
  • Park on Simcoe Street, then follow the path through the golf course to walk around the old fortification, built from the remnants of the oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes, as well as rubble from the burned town of Newark (now Niagara-on-the-Lake).
  • Yeaa mississauga! But it's just an old brick Shack.
