Admire Niagara Falls from a different vantage point with a visit to Journey Behind the Falls. Hidden behind the powerful waterfall, the tunnel offers several viewing platforms that give visitors a fresh perspective on the thunderous cascade. Be sure to wear a poncho or waterproof jacket on your visit, as you'll almost certainly get doused by heavy sprays of water. Reserve your tickets in advance, as the popular attraction can sell out. We did enjoy the view on this lower viewing area. You are right there and the sheer power is amazing. Make sure you go out on the first exit to the observation deck. Then which ever line is shortest f... read more »
Crazy to be so close to the thundering falls. Leave the observation decks until last and you will be blown away by the noise and views.

I don't know how you could do this tour and not love it! Walking behind the falls and then out on the observation deck next to them - incredible. The power of the falls and the amazing view standing behind them is awe inspiring. You do get a biodegradable yellow poncho to wear during your self-guided adventure. It wasn't really needed the day we visited. Take the time to stop and read all the history facts and look at the photos along the wall as you walk through. Interesting facts and figures about the falls and their history. We didn't do some of the other tours available in the Adventure ticket but that did seem like the best pricing if you wanted to do the boat tour into the bottom of the falls as well. We are looking forward to bringing our family back to see the falls in the near future.
This is one of those things that you must do once, but will probably never come back to. It's nice to see the falls up close, but in the end the tour is just a self-guided walk through a tunnel with one overlook and two windows right beside the falls. Nearly all of the interpretive signs in the tunnels are the same ones posted in the Welcome Centre upstairs, so you won't really learn anything new. But this is really about the experience of being able to see (and hear and feel!) the falls up close, and in that sense it does not disappoint. However, I would not recommend this for very small children, as the roaring noise of the falls can be frightening for toddlers.
You feel the power of the water in a way that you can't even imagine. It is a must do and allows you such an up close and personal look at the most outstanding falls. I was in awe of the beauty and power of this place. It was on my bucket list and best vacation ever!
Awesome, self-guided tourists site. The grandeur of the waterfall is just breathtaking. Great for the family, though the little ones may be a bit startled by the noise the falls make
Very interesting tunnels behind the falls that have historical facts written on posters throughout. They also lead to an open area so close to the falls that you would definitely get soaked were it not for the ponchos that they provide you. If you're going to Niagara falls, you should definitely do this.
