  • There are two separate sections to explore here. The first is an observation platform snuggled up against Horseshoe Falls. I loved that, but I have a waterproof camera, and don’t mind being soaked by ...  more »
  • Well worth the adventure through the tunnel system behind the falls, plenty of opportunities for photos from a different perspective and a refreshing spray on a warm day. I think it’d be great to have...  more »
  • We really were awed by being behind the Niagara Falls even for a bit. You go down 125 feet in an elevator and go through these man-made tunnels to see two areas behind the falls (there is a long line ...  more »

  • This is literally a journey behind Niagara Falls. It is like being in a cave. Very cool information on the falls and how it came to be. There was a lot of signs with the history of the falls and how it came to be. the walkway is a little narrow and if you are taking pictures, I highly recommend flash. Great views of the falls from the observation deck and a really nice gift shop when you walk out.
  • Journey Behind the Falls allows visitors a chance to get close to the falls while in a completely safe environment. The staff at the attraction were knowledgeable and more than happy to talk with pride about the area. The attraction itself is a series of well-lit, man-made tunnels that give visitors a chance to quite literally go behind Horseshoe Falls, seeing it from the other side. Along the corridors that you can take to different parts of the attraction are large posters detailing information about the falls, such as famous individuals who have visited, or the geological make-up of the terrain the falls runs over. One of the corridors leads you to a view directly behind one portion of the falls- both a slightly terrifying, yet awe-inspiring experience! Another portion of the tunnel is more of an observation deck from almost directly next to the falls, giving you a side-long view and gets you close enough to feel the spray from the water pounding the rocks below. Be aware that if you visit in the winter months, some of the observation decks are closed due to the weather and ice build-up. The tunnels are well-marked, but can become very icy, depending upon what time of year you visit. Specifically the lowest observation deck is closed in the winter months (which includes March) and the one that is open to visitors has a partially obstructed view due to ice build-up. However, visiting the Journey Behind the Falls attraction is an absolute must. Taking the time to see the falls from all sides is well-worth it.
  • This was such a great experience and a wonder sight to see. Mind you I did see this in the winter, yet it was still as beautiful as anticipated. Some parts of our views were obstructed from the frozen water that encased the tunnel viewpoints but I guess that's what you get for going through this in the winter. I can only imagine how nice it is when the weather is warmer and there isn't any ice obstructing the view. Cant wait to go back and experience this again.
  • Well worth it! I want to go back and spend some time there when it’s not icy. The elevator take you down to a viewing area behind the falls. We were there in the winter when the outer deck is closed. The viewing area was packed but everyone took turns getting their picture at the windows. You get a different sense of the beauty and power of the falls
  • Totally worth it to go behind the falls even in the winter! Wasn’t too packed, even for a Friday afternoon. Wouldn’t have paid for the movie if we knew what it really was ahead of time. Definitely not worth it. Not sure how the observation deck area is as it’s closed in the winter. Can’t wait to go back in the summer for a new experience! The wonder pass is a great deal as the incline railway is another fun view of the falls.
