Neck Point Park, Nanaimo

(4.8/5 based on 200 reviews on the web)
Take some time off from the usual tourist trappings with a leisurely stroll around Neck Point Park, a waterfront park of abundant natural beauty. Named after the igneous rock that is connected at lower tides to the rest of the park, the area is home to sea lions and orcas--who occasionally pass by the eponymous strip of rock. Explore beaches, rocky coves, forests, and excellent trails, and bring a camera to capture the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and snowcapped mountain vista. • You can walking your dog in winter. If you have snow its 95% positive that neck point won't have any. Nice little microclimate
  • This is by far one of my favourite places to walk with my dog. I take her every day I possibly can. There are always people on the trail, and it's an absolutely beautiful walk. The view, well let's ju...  more »

  • Always one of my favourite spots to go in Nanaimo. It's so close to everything in town, yet once you're out there, you feel free from all the noise of the city and you can truly relax and enjoy nature. Even if it's for 15 minutes in a day. Definitely worth your time to check out. #ExploreNanaimo
  • Easily my favourite park in Nanaimo. Most spots - and there are many - are accessible by persons with mobility issues. The beauty of the park is the many nooks and crannies (and beaches; 5 in total) that can be explored. A place to enjoy both cool forest trails and sunny beaches.
  • Great little park. Lots to explore. Rocky beaches, nice paths, great views.
  • This park never disapoints. Saw harbor seals and a sea otter tonight. A normal occurance here.....
  • Unbelievable views ..there are several paths, so going again and again is a great adventure. The whole place changes depending on the time of day.
