  • From September 30 to October 30... the village turns to the "Pumpkin inferno". In the evening the village is illuminated by hundreds of pumpkins carved according to different themes. Sound effects and plays of light contribute to the amazement of all. There are two restaurants, one offering a meal three service. A children's play area is also laid out.

  • Extraordinary experience to in an ancient village to be able to experience the different crafts. Sawmill, weaving, spinning, bread baking, cheese dairy, printing, furniture maker, Leatherworker, water power, steam engine. ... everything comes alive. Everywhere people (and animals such as horses, sheep, ...) that are active on a daily basis are as if they were in that time lived and also excited about it can tell (the people then ...) and questions with full knowledge of the facts. In addition, it is a very nice park, very extensive and quiet with a fine shop. We bought there home-made bread ... delicious!

  • This place is 10 times the size of Black Creek Pioneer Village in Toronto. They also offer wagon rides and barge rides included in your admission. We had a great time visiting, you can also dress up in costume at a fee. Was tempted to dress up but it was very hot when we went. They will give you free admission tickets to Fort Henry as well. We bought Kingston K-pass that included both sites and other attractions.
  • Great place for a day trip. Interesting exhibits in a mock village style. The actors are dressed up for the period and are very helpful and informative. Lunch at the local hotel was tasty but make sure you save room for one of their delicious desserts!
  • Wonderful place rich in history and culture. Very picturesque too with the Saint Lawrence River as backdrop. The village captures the imagination with its showcase of life in Canada from 150+ years back -- dusty roads, authentic historical buildings and structures, people in traditional clothing. The people who work there do not just toil for show. They produce items that they themselves need, using of course traditional production methods. Some products are also sold to visitors. When we visited, we were treated to a nicely choreographed horseride show staged by the RCMP. Allot at least 3 hours to see all the attractions.
  • Fun for the whole family! I quite enjoyed the woodworking building with the giant steam-powered saw, as well as the opportunity to milk a cow. The restaurant serves up some delicious meals, even with bread produced with wheat ground on location. Water fountains are hard to come by, so bring your own bottle and refill it as you get the chance.
  • Lots to see and the staff is so nice and inviting. A really great place to go for people of all ages. A little disappointed that the tavern doesnt have real beer though lol
