Nice bridge, which now limonages based on the city's mood! Kind of cool I think. The bridge is also a heat spot to watch the International Fireworks festival which occurs every summer at La Ronde Amus...  more »

This bridge is clearly visible from many points of the city of Quebec. From the viewpoint of Mont Royal at night is distinguibilissimo as enlightened; is admirable from the southern part of the city; is impressive in its metal part. There are many bridges of its type in Canada, this is one you never forget.

This historic bridge for the city of Montreal is the connection of the island with the city of Longueuil, was built in 1930 with a steel structure and currently boasts a beautiful lighting and is a favorite spot for locals to watch the fireworks on summer Saturday evenings.

Great view from the city! A good place to see sunsets. You can either walk or bike on it. On the south (or East) side you can see downtown Montreal. And on the other side you can see the Olympic Park and have a great view of the fireworks festival.

Seeing from the other comments here, it seems like there are quite a few lame tourists that don't need much to be charmed. Some people even like to show that they can take a picture. What no one tells is how lame it is right before and after the bridge. The very best time to enjoy a visit on the bridge is during rush hours. There, you get plenty of time to admire the view around.

Pont Jacque-cartier de Montreal. A popular background for tourists taking pictures from Jacque-cartier pier at Vieux port de Montreal. Very romantic and is a truss cantilever bridge crossing St Lawrence river. 334m long not hard for runners - should be fun to run across if possible!

Amusement Parks on the island gives a lot to the comfort and scenery of driving on the bridge.

Beautiful bridge connecting Montreal to Jean Drapeau Park and Longueuil. You can walk across it to reach the park, but it's a long walk.

Where to stay in Montreal

If beautiful architecture and views over the water appeal, stay in the historic neighborhood of Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal), where you'll be a stone's throw from the best attractions in the city. If modern convenience is more important to you, look for accommodations in the downtown neighborhood of Centre-Ville, or head a bit farther out to the artsy district of Plateau Mont-Royal. LGBTI visitors might want to consider staying in The Village, Montreal's famously progressive hub of gay and lesbian culture.
