Old Montreal, Montreal

(4.4/5 based on 9,000+ reviews on the web)
Wander through one of North America's oldest urban areas at Old Montreal. First established by French colonialists in the mid-17th century (after the defeat of the local Iroquois people), the neighborhood retains much of its old-world charm. Admire the facades of important religious buildings, grab a meal on the terrace of one of the district's many restaurants, or simply lose yourself in the web of cobbled streets. Stroll down to the waterfront to see views over the Saint Lawrence River. Put Old Montreal and other Montreal attractions into our Montreal vacation generator, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Old Montreal is without doubt the part more pretty and tourist of the city. Next to the old port, now converted in leisure area, and a magnificent park, gives a pleasant air (though the amount of people who visit it) which invites you to stroll and enjoy the many restaurants and bars that fill it.
