We went to this beautiful Museum in old Montreal that admission is free this year on the occasion of the 150 th anniversary of Confederation and our visit exceeded our expectations. Located in the House that George - Étienne Cartier in his life, this museum allows you to see how a family more than 150 years ago lived while allowing to understand this great person in Canadian history who fought the British rule as Patriot while becoming one of the fathers of Confederation in 1867. Presentations are clear and the Museum makes use of modern presentation techniques among others at the level of the reasons to vote. It is not quite known in Montreal as it is easily accessible!

Where to stay in Montreal

If beautiful architecture and views over the water appeal, stay in the historic neighborhood of Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal), where you'll be a stone's throw from the best attractions in the city. If modern convenience is more important to you, look for accommodations in the downtown neighborhood of Centre-Ville, or head a bit farther out to the artsy district of Plateau Mont-Royal. LGBTI visitors might want to consider staying in The Village, Montreal's famously progressive hub of gay and lesbian culture.
