  • Montreal residence of France in the colonial era, but the public as a museum. Guided tours, but above ground and underground rooms at audio to politely tell you about the history of each era of the Montreal and city life. While watching a collection of thematic tours are going because it takes more than an hour to hear all is fun.

  • The perfectly rehabilitated place deserves to be discovered. This small museum features on two levels, a series of thematic collections on the history of the city, on the first occupants of the site and on the lives of the settlers. Over the rooms we discover objects sometimes unusual but always interesting. Too bad the darkness prevailing in parts to make laborious reading of most of the pannonceaux presentation. Comments in audiovisual form give a somewhat more lively touch to the course, but a tour would have been more rewarding. If the weather is nice, a break in the vegetable garden to the French.

  • A very good museum about the early life of the Upper Class in New France, housed out of Chateau Ramezay, the original Governor's House in Montreal. Here you'll learn about the lifestyle of those living in New France, and take in a number of artifacts from the era, and up to the present day, showing how Montreal changed over time. On the second floor was a bread-making workshop, where visitors can try their hand at making bread in the traditional manner of the settlers, and even taste it after it is finished baking. Kids will have fun with this activity, and a number of other areas feature kid-friendly content. Definitely worth a visit!
  • great place for canadian historians but if you arent to interested in that kind of thing it's not for you. Super affordable as well
  • I was very impressed by how well preserved everything was and the attention to Montreal history. I've lived in Montreal all my life I would recommend it to all my fellow citizens. It is also a great stop for tourists
  • The museum itself is the preserved home of a known Canadian figure, Ramezay. The layout is circuit like in structure, that is, the tour begins and finishes at the same location. As you enter and exit rooms you follow a circular pattern. The museum has been refurbished many times so all of the original artifacts and architecture are gone. In its place are diaromas, paintings, and furniture acquired centuries later (think 1900's). The tour can be co plates in 20 minutes in your own, with the tour guide an hour. The place was not what we expected. Most rude moment occurred when someone in my travel group was accused by an employee of stealing candy from the gift shop even though they had literally just purchased it and were in the middle of eating it. The cashier had to tell him they had just purchased it. He was not apologetic enough in our opinion. Totally set a ride tone to the trip.
  • Interesting museum but would have like more information on the building and the rooms should be set up as their original use. Listening stations were not useful or informative. Nice garden in the back.
