  • This place is not the greatest attraction for the Italian tourist, and actually even for architecture buffs. You can visit in less than half an hour if you're not particularly curious, and if you enter on Thursday after five and a half hours of afternoon you have free admission: I mean better capture the moment whether you have little time and you are interested, whether it has time but not pa particular interest in the place. The biggest mistake is to consider this place a Museum: it is true that there are photos, models and projections to see but actually the Center is more a library and a documentation centre for researchers: for the poor mortals that they expect to visit something the intent informative is minimal, the involvement is largely absent and requires some preparation relating to appreciate the intersections between architecture and contemporary art. The exhibition space is not particularly abundant objects. What satisfies a second common expectations for poor visitors is a real tardottocentesca residence, Shaughnessy House incorporated inside the building: this magnificent wooden ceilings and a beautiful bow window, fireplaces and boiseries various produce a effect of serendipity that does not leave a dry mouth. Better go there without children and without this visit togla time to the most important objectives for the tourist to Montreal.

  • Expositions can be, but not always, technical and academic. Local history and architecture are often highlighted. The library and bookstore alone are worth a visit. The restauration of Shaughnessy House is exquisite. Come and see, you will not be disappointed.
  • Fantastic exhibits everytime we go. Always learn about Canadian architecture at home and abroad. New insights into global architecture, past and present. Get ready to spend at least two hours experiencing wonderful ideas.
  • CCA is an innovative museum and research center inspiring visitors to "think" about architecture. George Ranalli Architect is a proud collaborator and supporter of CCA.
  • Would definitely recommend to anyone with an interest in architecture. Interesting exhibits, friendly staff, and great bookstore.
  • Greystone exhibit was fascinating! I could spend hours in the bookstore alone!

Where to stay in Montreal

If beautiful architecture and views over the water appeal, stay in the historic neighborhood of Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal), where you'll be a stone's throw from the best attractions in the city. If modern convenience is more important to you, look for accommodations in the downtown neighborhood of Centre-Ville, or head a bit farther out to the artsy district of Plateau Mont-Royal. LGBTI visitors might want to consider staying in The Village, Montreal's famously progressive hub of gay and lesbian culture.
