  • We have been here many times but the samosas sold next to the chocolate store on he first level were just disgusting. Days old [by the taste], cold and hard, we felt that we were ripped off because th...  read more »
  • It is always a pleasure to go walk around the Atwater market! At the time of squash, a furtive glance usually turns yellow-orange-rice, we take full eyes. Great variety and quality of the products on the shelves. To make during any visit to the antiques district on Notre-Dame West Street.

  • Wonderful market with beautifully seasonal fruits and vegetables. Also a great assortment of cured meats, terrines, pate, and cheese. I literally had the best baguette of my life at the bakery there. There is also a area where they sell food to eat there. A bonus is you can get some beautiful picnic items and enjoy it at the river there.
  • If you are going to Montreal, you must stop at Atwater market. Plenty of street parking, go in get some amazing pastries, stop at the cheese stores, get some fresh fruits in the market. Walk by the water, grab a gelato or ice cream cone. Wonderful friendly people willing to help, you will enjoy!
  • Completely blown away with this place! Amazing variety and quality. The friendly and patient shopkeepers dealt with our broken french (most also spoke fluent english) and were nice enough to teach us more phrases! One of the highlights of our trip. If you're staying in the city, strongly recommend biking here from old port. Use the trail by the lachine canal.
  • As you can read by the majority of reviews, this place is amazing in variety, freshness, quality and friendly merchants. The one issue appears to be the size of the market - some say too small. For me, the size is perfect. I do not have to walk for hours to find all the quality items I love. I can get my shopping done in perfect time, while enjoying the ambiance as well. Atwater Market is totally awesome and I am so glad to live close enough to walk to it everyday. Life is wonderful !!
  • This is a cool market. It's mostly made up of food, produce and gardening supplies. Easily accessible by bicycle, and easy to spot by the large tower with "ATWATER" written on the side. Also check out Jean Talon Market which is similar but bigger.
