#1 of 6 in Zoos & Aquariums in New Brunswick
Walk with the animals and talk with animals at Magnetic Hill Zoo. Established in 1953 as a game farm home to orphaned and injured indigenous species, the zoo has expanded extensively over the years to feature more than 400 critters from over 100 indigenous and exotic species. Come and make friends with the lemurs, otters, lions, and bears in the 16 hectare (40 acre) site, with enclosures designed to resemble the species' natural habitats. The visitor center and signage around the zoo offers information of interest to children and adults, meaning you'll pick up plenty of interesting facts about your new friends. I'm sad to have given money to support a company that puts animals in a cage for cash. Without having really realize I paid to see animals that should be free in their country of origin: (!)

I visited this zoo over the past weekend. I am not a huge fan of zoos in general, but did enjoy seeing many animals that I have never seen before. I felt as though this zoo was of appropriate size for...  more »

This place is great for kids, they have a huge play ground set and you can go in a few animal pens to feed goats and deer. I love the way they set up an old Russian truck up so u can sit inside and watch the tigers out the front windshield, if your lucky they could jump up in the hood. Made for a great 3-4 hour adventure. You could spend alot longer there though.

Great place to bring kids. Really good zoo with a decent selection of animals. It is really great to be able to interact with the goats. Big cat displays (lions, tiger, leopard, jaguar) are also very impressive.

A great small community zoo. Well kept and not crowded. Semi-privately run and half owned by the city. Its nice to support this local zoo and allow it to grow and prosper. Definitely something to stop by and see when you are in Moncton.

It keeps getting better. Great place for the whole family. Lots of animals and the enclosures keeps getting better. Really seems like the well being of the animals is important here. The playground is a big hot as well!

Had my sons birthday party here, would highly recommend it! Adam was our host/guide and he was awesome with the kids and bilingual. All kids had a blast and it was educational as well. Good job!

Where to stay in Moncton

The center of the city remains the most popular place to stay, with the appropriately named Main Street offering the best selection of hotels. Using this area as your base, you'll be just a stone's throw from the water, the pleasant Riverfront Park, and the city's main train station. For a more budget-friendly option, look to the motels a few blocks back from the water, along St. George Street. If you're just passing through, consider staying at one of the chain hotels near the airport, to the east of the city.
