  • It is quite a long bumpy road to get to the light house along a narrow gravel road, but it is definitely worth it. The surrounding park is good for a picnic and is dog friendly. Only place dogs cannot...  more »

  • This place is so lovely to visit, the road there is awful and narrow bumpy but once you are there it's amazing .

  • This is is certainly one of the most extensive collections of "Suggested donation - $20.00" collections I have ever seen! People keep talking about the lighthouse, which is entirely secondary to this magnificent collection. Want to climb the lighthouse? Don't worry, you won't miss any of the collection, there's a reminder on every floor! Need to use the outhouse? Don't worry, there's signs in there as well. 3/5 stars, because I think the signs could have been better used as part of a scavenger hunt, and I was disappointed you couldn't climb the operating light house, nor access the windows/outside of the restored light house. Also, there is a smattering of wilderness, and a few other odds and ends to see, but the real gem is the "donation reminder" collection (and of course the friendly staff who want to make sure you don't miss out on your opportunity to donate, I suggest $20.00!)
  • The drive to Cabot Head is scenic. I wish we were able to stop and take some pictures! The light house is cute - I couldn't take that many great pictures at the light house because of the glass. There's a small trail as well. Be careful of poison ivy and snakes. Also, your car will be dirty from the dirt on the ride there and back.
  • Very disappointing. The views are nice but it is not worth the drive to the lighthouse. The road is full of potholes and very poorly maintained. The old lighthouse itself is also poorly maintained. The group who takes care of its upkeep seems to have bitten off more than they can chew and there are constant reminder signs to make a " $20 donation". Seems they would just do better charging a $5 admission.
  • One of the few historical light houses you can walk through. Beware there are lots of biting flies, bring spray. Long gravel road along the water edge. Stop for a photo.
  • I try to make it a yearly tradition to cycle to the lighthouse from a local campground. If you visit during the busy summer weekends be prepared to park alongside the road as there is limited parking. This is an operating and active lighthouse, Someone is available to answer your questions throughout the day.
