Gibbons Park reviews

Thames river was the best part and it has beautiful small trails to walk. It is very peaceful good for families, kids, senior citizens, couples :-) more »

London has many parks but this one is my favorite and thinks it is one of London's nicest natural parks which runs along side a branch of the Thames River starting from the university all the way... more »

Another place to sit and enjoy nature or to walk around - rather full of people who ar not exactly socially isolating, though ... back off being so close to me. more »

One of the largest parks in the town, this park has got everything, literally everything a park could have. Three or perhaps more entrances all with good enough free parking. A set of decent (mediocre, but heh, its a park) 3 tennis courts. A creek with ducks and geese, decent size splash pad, play areas, gazebo. Everything. Best of all, the huge area. If anyone is looking for a picnic, you'll always find a good shady area due to the park's sheer size. Huge thanks to the City for maintaining it as beautifully as they do. Only improvement I'd add is the washrooms. Park can definitely use few extra washrooms.

Gibbons Park is a beautiful area that has something for everyone and has several access points in the Old North area west of Richmond. For those who like to walk/run, bike, board or skate, the park has some great trails that connect to other parks in the city as well as to UWO. If you like to just sit and enjoy nature, Gibbons has several areas with benches both along the river as well as facing the trees. For those picnicers out there Gibbons offers several picnic areas, one of which is covered. There are beautiful trees all over as well as large expanses of lawn to relax, play or exercise/do yoga in. There is both a musical play area for the kids as well as a splash pad and park area which is great for the little ones in the summer. There is also a city run swimming pool that is quite popular in the summer for the older ones and adults. It is a lovely park to enjoy all year round and is large enough that it never really seems crowded.

It's all true - lovely park that is large and varied for all needs. We checked out the kids play area and splash pad while driving through - play structures were ok - mulch ground cover. The splash pad is new and great. Mostly shaded you could see why it's popular (lots of people there on a Tuesday morning!). We could see that they have a pool with lessons happening. Park is large and is good for walking/running/biking - looks dog-friendly. We had no trouble parking but i can see how it could be a challenge at busy times.

Beautiful walk along the Thames. Playground and waterplay area here great for toddlers and young children. Paved path for easy walk, jog, or bike. Can go quite a distance north or south.
-
Great park with a pool, splashed and playground. Right on the river so it's nice for walks or watching wildlife. There's part of a paved path, but the should connect the ends so people walking can do a loop.
