  • This is a great place to visit. We saw many birds and enjoyed the walk around the Marsh. Everyday we ventured to the Marsh as it was a short walk from the cottage we rented.

  • Great family outing, nice hike. We visited here during the morning and ended up exploring and walking the trail in its entirety. We passed a couple of hours as we took our time. Nice conservation...

  • It's great in May... but I wish someone warned me that it would be dry in the fall so I didn't have to walk in, braving all those mosquitoes, only to find it was dry in September. Hope this saves someone a trip! Also, in the fall there's nothing worth seeing here. But in May, this place is bustling with bird life. They have a banding station as well, which is always a ton of fun. I don't remember the exact times, but it's not one of those only early in the morning ones.
  • What a great area! Well marked trails. Lots of birds sighted- geese, sandpipers, long legs, black bellied plover, kill deer, blackburnian warbler, blue teal ducks and more!
  • A quiet day at lovely Hillman Marsh. Very few birds on a hot day, though I did see a catbird, first one I've ever seen, and there were hundreds of monarch butterflies. For a quiet meditative walk in nature, Hillman Marsh is great.
  • There's a 2-km dike walk around a small marsh, and a 5.7-km walk around a larger 87-acre one. Beautiful and uncrowded, especially in winter. Owned and managed by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
  • Very lush and green and there was definitely a lot of wildlife and birds. However the trail quickly became grass only which was not so nice for walking. Lots of bugs as well - bug spray helped but if you don't like them flying around you you may not like it
