Parc de la Riviere-des-Mille-Îles, Laval

4.4
The Rivière des Mille Îles is a channel of the Ottawa River in southwestern Quebec, Canada and runs into the Rivière des Prairies. It is long.It divides Île Jésus from the North Shore, the northern mainland suburbs of Montreal The river rises at the narrowing of the Lac des Deux Montagnes, the area where the Ottawa River widens as it feeds into the St Lawrence at Montreal, and flows west to east. It joins the Rivière des Prairies at the eastern tip of Île Jésus, which shortly thereafter joins the St. Lawrence at the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal. As its name suggests, the river contains many small islands which are part of the Hochelaga Archipelago. It is not to be confused with the Thousand Islands at the head of the St. Lawrence River, in Ontario and New York State.

  • Great Park, in the middle of the action with his rest area. Enjoy the time for lunch in picnic, enjoy the calm and the river. Fun summer and winter, 12 months a year, it is a popular Park.

  • The miles River Islands are full of birds, turtles, fish and Islands inhabited or not very pretty to look at. The trees are centuries old and nature protected by surrounding cities. Easy access, several docks are available, throughout the thousand islands River, to Boisbriand Rosemère, particularly on the priest Labelle boulevard, just before the bridge, many vacationers themselves on weekends. A spa, welcoming restaurants are located near the river.

  • A little expensive, but overall a really nice park. There's lots of poison ivy around the islands, but it's well identified. The structure is under construction at the moment, so parking is a little iffy, but manageable if you don't arrive too late. Overall, I really like the place! It's great for teaching groups, or for a casual canoe stroll.
  • Even with the big construction that is going to last until spring 2018, this place is still so cool. Great nature photo potential. Wonderful river. Very classy. Love the service. Exceptional views. Lots of wildlife. Great kayaks too. LOVE THE SERVICE. VERY CLASSY. A bit complicated with the parking lot for summer 2017, will probably loose clients to the other Rental boat service near them.
  • Beautiful view from the water, we went early to rent kayaks and there were not many people around yet but it does get busy later in the day. Would definitely recommend going early.
  • They need to do a better job with there signs especially while construction is going on, at some points the trail seems to end with no signs. Besides that the park is nice and if you enjoy kayaking the price for renting is not bad
  • Be careful with Summer Camp Econature, they will rip out your money. Read the policy, if you cancel on less than 8 business days, not 7 days as it is written, they will keep your money or if you have the chance to cancel they will take 20% and will reimburse on a cheque 5 days later, even if you paid cash or with debit card... We never had these issues prior years somewhere else. So my advise, do not book too much time ahead, or book someone with better policies. As we couldn't cancel one week my daughter went to the camp («Dans la peau d’un biologiste»), first day it was raining, she got all wet and they put them in a place to dry their clothes... but over them!!!... then in the afternoon they went on boats but as it was raining in AM the boats were all wet inside... summary next day 40 C fever, headache and pain... so finally she lost the whole week and I have to stay home and miss my job.... not helpful at all as summer camp.
