  • The paint pots themselves were not too interesting. The surrounding terrain is still beautiful mountain forest.  more »
  • We are disappointed with the closures and neglect of trails observed in the National Parks. Some 30 years ago when we did a lot of hiking, we did not see these restrictions. What has happened? There a...  more »
  • I am so glad parks Canada decided to fix the bridge to the paint pots. We've done this hike with our kids many times over the years but we hadn't been in many years due to lack of access (bridge out)....  more »

  • I really wish I could have seen this in the summer. It was a gorgeous hike with so many informational boards along the way discussing the history of the place. I don't recommend it for the winter though because you miss important pieces
  • Lovely little hike with great views. There's a washroom before you start and a bridge across the river. Nice stop during spring, summer and fall. May be too hard in winter.
  • A perfect place to snowshoe during the winter or doing a little hiking in the summer. Trails are well maintained and updated by local park rangers. Beautiful views all around.
  • A really nice short hike over the Kootenay River to view the colourful Paint Pots. Interesting interpretive signs fill us in on the history and how this resource was used in the past. A few of the mining implements are scattered about the site.
  • We were short before the Marble Canyon, therefore the evaluation fails here, not quite as good. There are light-colored mud puddles. Not more. The Indians feel this place as sacred, you should keep it too. 8/2014
