Victoria Park, Kitchener

Nature / Park Must See
Spend a day in the oldest park in the city at Victoria Park. The park not only has a history going back to the 19th century, but it also offers plenty of features. A picnic shelter offers a place to eat, or take the kids to the playground and splash pad. Others may want to make use of the horseshoe pit or basketball court. A historic clock tower adorns one of the entrances. The park’s pavilion, which the city rents out for special events like musical performances, is a must-see. A great place for a quiet walk or time with family. Many places to sit and people watch or feed the ducks and swans by the river. There is a newly updated playground and splash pad for kids - hours of entertainment. There's also a path which is good for jogging or riding a bike. Enjoy the sites of century old homes that surround the park. Lovely.

Amazingly fun place for kids to go but very busy! Splash pad is good for younger kids but with lots of older kids it requires supervision of young kids. Playgrounds are accessible and super fun for kids of all ages. Some shade found close to the play areas and also limited seating and picnic tables around play areas. Has a really reasonably priced and tasty ice cream truck on site.

This is is a beautiful park that's well maintained. Has beautiful old trees and birds and ducks. Has a mini Creek and pond. Grass is always cut and kept clean. You can sit down or lay down on the grass without anyone bothering you. Lots of pathways. There's a playground for the kids. Children can run around, safely. Parking is available. Biking is allowed. The park is situated downtown and is Kitchen's oldest and original park. A nice to relax.

This is a beautiful park, perfect for children and families. There is a very cool playground area, splash pad and picnic area. Full of natural elements and wildlife. It makes a nice low key destination for an afternoon of strolling and exploring.

Where to stay in Kitchener

For a relatively large city, Kitchener doesn't offer a particularly broad range of accommodations. In the city center, King Street offers a handful of mid-range hotels, but little beyond that. Your best bet is to look southeast to Centreville Chicopee, where you can find a cluster of chain hotels, or northwest to the adjoining city of Waterloo, which offers some nicer hotels by its main park.
