Spend a day in the oldest park in the city at Victoria Park. The park not only has a history going back to the 19th century, but it also offers plenty of features. A picnic shelter offers a place to eat, or take the kids to the playground and splash pad. Others may want to make use of the horseshoe pit or basketball court. A historic clock tower adorns one of the entrances. The park’s pavilion, which the city rents out for special events like musical performances, is a must-see. This place is located in Downtown, Kitchener. It's easy to locate and it has a good parking space for car parking. The best part about this park is it has several entrance from various directions, so If you are commuting by bus or even doing a walking tour of Kitchener downtown you can easily get to the park location. I went to see the fall colours. They were mesmerizing to see when you are at the park and you could see and enjoy all the colours of fall. At the park you could sit near the man made pond and enjoy the view of various birds, ducks, swans swimming & playing near by the pond. It is very peaceful and people are really friendly to talk. You could also take a walk around the park and cross different small bridges build on the pond. If you have kids, there is a separate playground for kids that has a big splash pad and garden area. Also, you could enjoy some outdoor sports since the park is big enough. This is perfect and beautiful park to visit with your friends and family for a one day picnic.
A mini version of New York central park
The park is great but it can get stabby at night.
In Summer this park is where it's at. Great for anything, outside. Play with the family dog, go for hikes, ride the bikes... get a personal trainer and do some exercising.. lol. Very enjoyable. Nice view's all around. If your just visiting Kitchener and want to place to check out, I highly suggest going to see what I'm talking about, and enjoy.
Every time I go, it's over-populated and this time... It also had locked bathrooms. 🙄 Plus very limited parking. It's nice to attend but.... Don't go if you're planning on distancing. Usually a fun activity we like to attend in the summers but... Always hectic. Nice structures though!!
