  • It isn't huge but you will find much of what you need in produce, baked goods, meat, and a variety of other vendors. Why not some hand made soap, or flowers? I rarely visit a grocery store, much prefe...  read more »
  • I go there as many Saturdays as I CAN. vendors are friendly produce fresh and cheap. Can get very busy past 10am so go early!!! Support your local farmers
  • There were all kinds of seasonal produce available. The display from the vendor from Niagara region was very impressive. Very organized and the prices were fantastic.
  • Kitchener market is a weekly stop for me year round. The vendors are amazing and if you talk to most of them, they are passionate about food and where their product comes from. Tony, over at Charle's Quality meats is a great guy who has his heart in good honest business and clean meats. Robb, over at South Central Sausage, seems to find new ways to keep new products coming in (you MUST stop there and try everything!). Kat and Mark over at Anna Tolezzi chocolate make the most fun and creative flavours of truffles! All around a great place to be on a Saturday morning.
  • This is my favourite market as the prices are a bit better than the other markets in the area. There are a few parking lots within a two or three block radius so really not a problem parking. And this market is under cover so no problem to visit in the rain or snow.
  • Has quite a few meat vendors, which seems to be unique to Waterloo Region. Walk or transit if you can because parking is insane. Also be careful not to buy from the stalls that import produce because often there are better local farmers' stalls.
  • *This market is specifically rated higher for me due to it being walking distance. If it required me to drive I don't know if I'd bother going much at all Things I like - walking distance to buy farm fresh food - weekday lunch spots - events and classes - nice way to run into neighbours on Saturdays Things I don't like - not easy to determine which food comes from farmers and which is from food resellers. The little farm signs aren't enough. Grouping vendors together would be more convenient as well - wish it was open twice a week. Saturday plus a later evening weekday market, perhaps Wednesday from like 5-10 and incorporate perhaps a night market outside for crafts vendors - the space seems very underutilized during the rest of the week
  • We highly recommend Charles's Quality Meats and South Central Saussages! The Downtown Market is a great place to find local produce at an excellent price!
