  • By canoe or motorboat or a water tour it is neat to go through at least some of the locks. You regularly pay by the foot but I just read that most are free this year. We will definately be doing it mo...  more »

  • This is a "hidden gem"! You could spend hours here during the boating months, watching the boats go through the multiple locks and walking across the tops of the gates and down the stairs to the river and cliffs. I also see trains going overhead and walk to the falls. I also enjoy going to the boardwalk along the wide part of the river above the locks and watching the kids fishing. The grass is lush here and you can walk in your bare feet. There are family celebrations nearly every time I have been there and it just has a nice feel to it.
  • Excellent little location for sightseeing, fishing, swimming, bbq cooking spots as well.
  • Awsome location. Great place to visit when in Kingston.
  • Great history. Nice fishing at the lock
  • Interesting and fun. There are examples of the various types of locks built on the Rideau Canal. The locks are still in use.
