First off.. Their chocolate buttertart is AMAZING. It's like a buttertart and a brownie had a delicious gooey baby. I drag my husband out here at least once a year just to get these. (It's pretty far for us.) If you're just stopping in to get some pastries, preserves and apple cider to go I give this place 10 stars. The cafe - has some really delicious and well priced food. But as a newcomer it's hard to figure out where to go to be seated and what the menu looks like, for introverts it can be a bit daunting, but extroverts will be totally fine.. Just ask someone. Most seating is outside so keep that in mind, the temperature/weather can make or break your visit. Apples- if you go early in the season I recommend the apple picking. But they only have so much space, and apples (like anything grown) have good harvests and bad ones and are weather dependant, this is also one of the closets places to go from Toronto so they can get picked clean early. Maybe call ahead? Their pre picked apples are expensive.
Decent cafe in a farm setting. We had coffees and desserts. We also bougut some apples and desserts to bring homexto our kids. The cafe also serves sandwiches and hot food, but we did not have any on our first visit.
A great place for apple picking or a short stop at the cafe. It's great for kids -- they love picking apples and running through the orchards. There is a small, closed-in area to view ducks (just a few ducks) and a shaded, cozy picnic area. The cafe has both fresh and frozen food options and souvenirs. You can purchase apples at a slightly higher price if you don't feel like picking. Try to come earlier in the apple picking season and early in the day because it gets quite busy. Expect to pay a $3 per person entry (kids under 5 and pets are free) and $1.99 per pound. Sweeter varieties are available later in the season and baking apples earlier.
Went to this farm today to pick some apples. We did originally go to their competition down the road but that location was too chaotic. Therefore, we tried this location. There was a police officer directing traffic which is really good. Unfortunately, all the applies were already picked but we still decided to purchase some of their apples at their store. We purchased a bag of Honey Crisp for $33. This is quite steep. Other orchards around the same area were cheaper so we were shocked about the price. We were also a little deceived. We bought Honey Crisp and they sure were NOT Honey Crisp. It did not taste like Honey Crisp nor did it look like Honey Crisp. Not sure what kind of apples did we purchase. But not impressed with their mislabeling. I need to do better research and go to a different orchard next year.
We got to find this farm after our targeted apple farm orchard closed early on the same street line. We thought of to pay for admission $3/person when we approached there but they set up no admission charge on thanksgiving day and informed us that pretty much of apples picked up already. But still we set up our mind to go around the farm for some good experience of apple farm. We took the bag provided from their employee and went inside the farm for picking. We didn't find any single apple on tree and instead most apples found on the ground(because of bad weather a day before). We tried to figure out some good ones from ground and bought some from their ready-picked. Apples was bit pricey as compare to other farm but taste so good.
