Spray Lakes Reservoir is a reservoir in Alberta, Canada. The Spray Lakes were a string of lakes formed along the Spray River, a tributary of the Bow River. With the damming of the river, the lakes were united in the Spray Lakes Reservoir.
It lies between the Goat Range and the Three Sisters ridge, at an elevation of 1720m. The lake is followed by Highway 742 (Smith Dorrien Trail) in the northern part.
The lake is fed by the following waterways: Bryant CreekTurbulent CreekCurrie CreekWatridge CreekSpray RiverSmuts CreekSpurling Creek
The lake is drained by the Goat Creek, which empties into the Bow River about 25km to the northwest, at the town of Banff. Part of the water is diverted for hydroelectric purposes from Goat Pond via an open canal and through a canal tunnel into Whiteman's Pond and towards Canmore.
The lake lies in the recreational area of Kananaskis Country, and defines the eastern edge of Spray Valley Provincial Park. An assortment of recreational areas are established on both shores. • We drove to Spray Lake to hike across from it on the High Rockies Trail and Sparrowhawk Tarns. Took a look at the lake after our hike and your could see the lake from the trails too.  more »
  • Wife and I drove out there at dusk hoping to see some wildlife. Nice views. Saw some deer, a beaver, and some birds. Gravel roads and a little bumpy. Nice drive to get out of town a bit.  more »

  • Beautiful, quiet place to go a for a walk. The scenery is beautiful. The road to get there is part dirt and part paved but it's not too bad overall.
  • Great place to explore and camp! The road in seems a little off putting, but almost any vehicle can do it if your carful. Lots of hiking trails and beautiful scenery all around.
  • If the conditions are prime, this is the ideal location for ice skating. It's remote, but not too. The hike in isn't bad if you've got a proper map. And for the introvert, it's a nice place to escape the tourists.
  • Beautiful spot, surounded by tons of hiking trails. Been both in summer and winter, recommended visiting every season. It is really beautiful. Also a good spot to catch methane bubbles when its frozen over.
  • The waters pretty low.
